Freedom or Happiness

'Freedom or Happiness' is a video project we did at the height of the pandemic in Beijing, China. Our family was subjected to a mandatory 14 day quarantine at home, and police officers conducted spot checks to make sure we abide the stringent protocol. We envision this to be an immersive 14 + 1 screen installation in a room, the video loops 14 times as a reflection of the drudgery and escalated surveillance during this time.
